ISC 2025 NEWSLETTER - February 12th 2025
Dear RBA Parent,
In order to participate, dancers must: maintain good class attendance, pay the participation fee, pay additional costume fee(s) on time, attend dress rehearsal(s) and attend all of their performances!
Dancers may not miss more than 3 classes from the months of March-June, so that they may practice in their in-class rehearsals. There is of course an exception for illness and other important events that have been pre-scheduled. Please notify us through Remind of these absences, dates of pre-scheduled events or illnesses so we may excuse your dancer.
If you do not wish to participate in the In Studio Concert, please let us know as soon as possible; your dancers' class experience will not be negatively affected if they are not going to perform. Rehearsals will only take place in the last portion of class, they will be able to learn the steps, have extra time to stretch and practice their technique.
The Participation Fee: is DUE before March 15th, $125.00. This fee covers the following items: 1 Costume, 1 Custom T-Shirt & 1 Digital Download of your dancer’s performance! Please pay the fee as soon as possible so we may have their costume ordered, delivered and tried-on. If there is a size or manufacturing error, we will need time to replace it!
If your dancer is in two levels or classes, for example Level 4 & Level 5, they will need to pay for two costumes because they will be performing in two pieces of choreography. Each additional costume is $40.00.
Wardrobe: Each class will receive a slip of paper with the information needed to prepare the clothes to be worn with or underneath their costumes, how to wear their hair and any other important info!
Dress Rehearsals are mandatory! Each program will have a dress rehearsal before the weekend of performances. Pre-Ballet/Tiny-Tots, Level 1 a/b/c and the Level 2’s will rehearse first so they may go home early. Their call time for Dress Rehearsal is 4pm, their approximate finish will be 5:30 pm. Levels 3 & up will have their dress rehearsal from 5:00-7:30 pm.
We will have two programs, Program A & Program B. They will be slightly different, when the casting is posted please make sure you purchase tickets for the Program your dancer will be performing in. Ticket website is https://cur8.com/26366/project/130002. Please be sure to save your tickets on your phone after you purchase them! Tickets will be for sale as soon as the casting for both programs is final! The sooner we know who is or is/is not participating, the sooner casting will be ready and tickets will be available!
Performance Day
Intermediate & Advanced dancers, levels 5-7, will arrive for a Warm Up class, two hours prior to curtain. After class they will settle into their dressing areas to get ready.
Call Times: Parents will be expected to check-in dancers at their call time, Pre-Ballet - Level 4, exactly one hour before curtain. Check-in is located at the rear entrance of our suite, the double brown doors across the hall from the restrooms and the water fountain. There will be a sign to direct you there and a table set up for the check-in area. Here, parents will assist dancers with the restroom, taking off their street clothes/shoes & putting on their ballet slippers before going backstage.
Before you arrive at check-in, please have your dancers' hair and make-up* done and have them dressed in their performance attire. We do not recommend large bags or large amounts of personal belongings, as space is limited backstage and the time they are waiting to get in and out of costumes is very short. They may bring with them a small, leak proof water bottle labeled with their name.
At the conclusion of the performance, dancers are required to be physically checked-out, in the same area as check-in, by their Parent/Legal Guardian. At this time everyone is welcome to visit, take photos on stage and shop in the lobby. Dancers are not allowed to check-out before the conclusion of the show. Dancers are not allowed to check themselves out without an adult or leave PLATT’s lobby (NO meeting up in the parking lot) without an adult to chaperone them.
Volunteers; we always need help to put on these lovely performances! If you’d like to sign up please call or visit us at the front desk!

Illness & Injury Guidelines:
Illness and the health of our cast and their families is a very important issue to us! We sanitize frequently touched surfaces throughout our space and limit large groups of people in small spaces as much as possible. Please be respectful and courteous of those around you and consider wearing a mask or staying home if you or your dancer has been experiencing illness symptoms. Dancers who miss rehearsals due to illness must prove & test negative for covid and be symptom free for more than 3 days before returning to rehearsals/ performances. If dancers are injured, they are encouraged to come to rehearsals to observe and participate in taking notes until they are healed and cleared by their physician to return to physical activities.
Fees, Volunteering & Fundraising:
BRAVA is a non-profit organization which means that the performances and events are solely produced and supported by volunteer work and fundraising efforts! If you choose to participate, parent involvement is expected! There is a participation fee due before the first rehearsal & there is a total amount of money that is to be fundraised (per dancer) and lastly there is a volunteering requirement (parents support their performer backstage; strike team, tech crew, chaperoning, applying makeup, fixing hair, dressing in/out of costumes, repairs/sewing… OR front of house; usher, concessions, boutique, fundraising coordination, etc.). Parents that refuse to be involved will result in their dancer missing out on performing opportunities.
Required Meetings:
There are two mandatory cast & parent meetings, the first at the beginning of the season and the second takes place right before tech week (the week we move into the theatre). The first meeting is TBA (To Be Announced) within the audition acceptance letters/emails! These letters are expected to be sent out a week after auditions take place. The second meeting is the tech week, or safety, meeting. Before we move into the theatre we meet with the entire cast & their parents so we may discuss important information regarding the venue, the schedule, volunteering efforts & any questions or concerns parents may have. Lastly, there may be additional meetings for those who have been invited to participate within the Guild or the Tech Crew. There will also be dates and times for parents that need to sign up with our Volunteer Coordinator and fill their volunteering hours.
Code of Conduct & Rehearsal Etiquette:
Disrespecting others and/or bullying of any kind (adults or children) will not be tolerated while participating in BRAVA or RBA productions. Dancers can be asked to leave rehearsals at anytime at discretion of the artistic staff if they are not showing respectful behavior. This rarely happens, however, please encourage dancers to be on their best behavior. This also applies to RBA’s main lobby area, Platt Lobby… This is a shared space & we need to do our best to keep it as clean as possible. There are restrooms, water fountains, multiple benches and electricity plugs on either end of the lobby… children should be supervised at all times! Dancers are encouraged to use the restroom & leave their belongings with their parents before going into rehearsals. Dancers who have multiple roles will have small breaks for eating snacks or using the restroom, these breaks are not supervised by RBA staff or BRAVA crew… parents must be available to supervise their children in the Main/Platt Lobby at anytime.
